Subject: Music Trains on the Mid Cheshire Line - May and June 2012 - and news of the Poacher.

Hello

News

Our first three Music Trains of 2012 have gone well with 36, 44 and 25 passengers respectively.  We have a new venue - the Greyhound at Ashley for daytime Music Trains.  We will be having a different jazz ensemble each month at Alexanders in Chester.  And at the Golden Pheasant at Plumley we have a new menu offering baguettes as well as main dishes.  On the trains we will have new folk ensembles, jazz and a string quartet - as well as the return of well-known bands from last year.

MCRUA's 'Lincolnshire Poacher' ran on 5 May.  John Oates, MCRUA chairman, writes "Our 'Lincolnshire Poacher' special train on Saturday 5 May ran very well with around 550 people from most stations along the Mid Cheshire line as well as Reddish South to Lincoln, Wainfleet and Skegness.   The train was full and had been full for the previous 7 weeks.  It was a delight to see so many happy people leaving our train on our return and to receive many congratulatory emails.  This is what makes it all worth it for us"
