The Boat Band are playing at the Holy Inadequate, Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent on Wednesday January 25. This is an amazing pub, recently done out(and renamed). Great selection of real ales and all that sort of thing, good place for conversation. The first time I drunk there I was offered a game of chess (which I won, surprisingly). Not sure how much of a formal gig it will be, and how much of a session. Depends if anyone turns up who wants to contribute musically, I suppose. We will play totally acoustically: there are plenty of places to go to get deafened, we'll keep this one gentle. Kick off will be 8.30/9ish. Do come and join us. The pub is near those curly silver sculptures by the A53 between the A500 and the Festival Park rounabout and flyover. For map and stuff go to Next Wednesday, February 1st, is the first Wednesday of the month(obviously), so we will be at the Greyhound in Penkhull as always. Regards Greg and the Boat Band PS Memo to canal boaters: as you will know well, the fair city of Stoke-on-Trent is abysmally supplied with decent canal accessible pubs. The Holy Inadequate in Etruria and the Glebe in Stoke are the bright stars in the firmament at the moment, neither actually on the towpath but both within a 5 minute stroll. If there are others, do let me know, and I will help publicise them. | ||
