| From: Craig Pickering Hugh will be performing a solo show presenting dramatic episodes from the life of his great uncle, the famous children's author Arthur Ransome. It is the story of an extraordinary, perilous journey from the turbulent days of the Russian Revolution back to his beloved Lake District in the company of Trotsky's secretary Evgenia. Weds June 8th @ Biddulph Library 7.30pm (note early start time) £8 Tel-01782-523277 Next Wednesday (June 15) we play host to one of the brightest stars in the current folk firmament, Lucy Ward. Last October she made what can only be described as a sensational cameo appearance at the Leopard performing 'When The Beatles came to Hanley' from the Queensberry Rules' swansong EP. These are heady days for Lucy with her debut cd 'Adelphi Has to Fly' released only a couple of days before the Biddulph show. Produced by Megson's Stu Hanna (Darwin Project, Show of Hands) it promises to be something special. She has a very busy summer ahead with some high profile festival bookings including the Shrewsbury Folk Festival. Weds June 15th @ The Biddulph Arms 8pm £10 Tel-01782-514896 | ||
