Tip of the day : Cut price printing, marketing, signage http://www.vistaprint.co.uk/frfuk?frf=245319496113 Warm regards, Lynne Barnes AmandaLynne Music Agency 01270 628041 mobile 077 900 82523 68 The Beeches, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 5YP Dear Folks...time to write a letter methinks ! Susies note below has prompted me.... Hello! No, you don't know me [unless you're old enough to remember the club I ran, "Folk At the Malt" in Altrincham in the late 70s / early 80s and / or PERFORM]. Nick at the Raven knows me! And if Sandy and Sean are still anything to do with Northwich... However! I wonder if you could possibly help me publicise an event JUST in the far south of the Palatinate? I sing tenor with the Village Quire - check out www.villagequire.org.uk : we are...unique, I think, sums it up! Different, - and we do a show that is really worth hearing. For the first time, we are singing in Cheshire, my home patch, and I'm trying to get the word about as many people / clubs as I can. Please could you tell your friends / audiences / any folk clubs you have contact with in the area etc about these two events in Audlem Festival on Saturday 28th May - daytime, not evening. Feel free to forward these links. Concert Much obliged to you for your help...it's hard to tell people personally when you're three hours' drive away! Susie On the subject of villages Folk Set In Sandstone sessions at Bickerton Village Hall start at 1.30pm on April 29-30. Madcap Ceilidh and Ric Sanders tickets are selling well with Bickerton villagers looking forward to having folk music ! Zinney will be supporting Ric Sanders and Blue Yellows with Jon Tarplee have promised to do a spot at some point yet to be scheduled and people from as far away as Bradford and Ormskirk are coming. Don't leave it too late to get a ticket for the evenings from www.cheshirefolk.com or Liz Rosenfield or myself. You can also join the Cheshire Folk group on Facebook where lots of local folk info is posted. Fairport Convention tickets at Middlewich Royal British Legion on May 20 are nearly sold out. Dick Gaughan and Andy Cutting on May 21st at the Middlewich Civic Hall ...yes a double headliner ...tickets are now on sale and Liz Rosenfield or myself have tickets if you prefer to buy in person. There is a guitar workshop run by Folkus in the morning. Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival is shaping up with several folk artists including the Boat Band at the Boars Head, the Kinderton and The Cheshire Cheese as well as the open stage, with pubs booking their own bands. I for one hope folk music remains the main feature. I recommend you look at Gawsworth Hall who have The Houghton Weavers, Kate Rusby, Bellowhead, The Ukelele Orchestra of GB, Show of Hands and a lot more lined up in their summer programme. www.gawsworthhall.com All proceeds go to maintaining this small tudor family home and manor house lived in by the Richards family. Please support them, they are promoting good quality folk and.preserving one of Cheshires' finest timber houses through doing so. Thea Gilmore will be at Nantwich Jazz and Blues Festival on Maunday Thursday at the Civic Hall and a few folk or acoustic bands in the fringe such as With Bob On Our Side, The Folkwits, The Providence Jug Band, Tom Doughty, I will be looking out for some excellent blues from Last Ones Out sometime at the Shakespeare and Mike Howdens new band whose name I have lost in the vast list . See www.nantwichjazz.com There are loads of events listed at www.amandalynnemusic.blogspot.com or www.amandalynnemusic.wordpress.com | ||
