LAST WEEK:
We were at the Rugby Club with Nick & Lin Tysoe - good to see so many there for a 'feel good factor' evening! Thanks to our guests for providing extra raffle prizes, too! Our pre-raffle-ite spot was from Jean Finney, and support was from Bernard, Stewart and Nelson Peach.
THIS WEEK:
Singers Night at the Spread Eagle. Sing, play or simply listen!!
NEXT WEEK:
Wendy Arrowsmith - April 21st at the Spread Eagle. Wendy's popularity is growing by leaps and bounds - some of you may have already seen her at a festival. If so, tell everyone else why you're coming along this evening!!
FOR YOUR DIARY:
Other guest nights coming up over the next few weeks: Gary & Vera Aspey on May 5th at the Rugby Club, and George Papavgeris at the Spread on May 19th. Don't forget that Eddie and Terry are our Big Spot on May 26th!
If in doubt, download the RTF: http://www.lymmfolkclub.org.uk/lymm_where.rtf
Lymm Festival 2011 Folk Events information is now on the website (http://www.lymmfolkclub.org.uk/lymmfest2011.html), and will also appear in the village festival brochure, available fairly soon
The entry form for the Songwriting Competition (Sunday June 26th at the Rugby Club) can be downloaded - http://www.lymmfolkclub.org.uk/song2011form.pdf... I will accept entries either by post or by hand, but NOT by email, please. If posting, do be sure to obtain a certificate of postage, as entries will be accepted strictly in the order I receive them. As ever, the running order will be decided with raffle tickets. The (senior) winner will also be offered a Big Spot on Thursday July 28th.
If you'd like an Open Mic spot (Saturday June 25th at the Rugby Club) you may either email me, telephone or ask me in person - but hurry! There are ten spots available, first come, first served, and they are quickly being claimed! Keep your eye on the website to see how the list is progressing! A brief piece of promotional information about each performer/duo/band should be submitted with your entry, please - maybe even a photo!
This year, the audience will be asked to vote for their favourites, and the 'winner' will be offered a club gig on Thursday August 4th 2011 - non-negotiable, so if you're not available on that date we'll ask the runner-up
and so on!
Club Organisers - make sure you're at our Open Mic, as the standard is always high - and admission is FREE!
TICKETS:
Don't forget a saving can be made by booking your tickets in advance - use our online forms http://www.lymmfolkclub.org.uk/lymm_tickets.html - you can submit either by post (details on the form) or by email. Cheques to be made payable to Bernard Cromarty, or ask for my bank details if you prefer online banking.
MAILING LIST:
If you know anyone who wishes to be on our mailing list, simply forward this email to them, ask them to contact me on mailto:list@lymmfolkclub.org.uk, and I'll add them. The group is 'closed', which means only real people added or invited by me may become members. 'Spam Bots' and the like cannot add themselves and cause trouble. Richard Peach (of Nelson Peach) is also an administrator of the group, which is a precaution in case I'm indisposed for any reason.
