Fw: NEW FOLK DIARY and other news

Subject: NEW FOLK DIARY and other news

Happy St David's Day to you all.  I had completely forgotten until I took the dogs out for a walk and heard a chap whistling Men of Harlech

Attached is the new Folk Diary containing as much info as I was able to get.

Don't forget it is the Yew Tree at Cauldon tonight, so come along and have a good sing - hope to see you there.  Friday 4th will be the Americana night at the Jervis Arms, Onecote.
AND ALSO DON'T FORGET - Friday 11th, JEZ LOWE at the Potteries FC, Foxfield Railway, Blythe Bridge

Read on for info rec'd from other folks - and also attached a flyer for an open mic night, I assume by the postcode this is in the Birmingham area

Hi Lorna

I wonder if you could circulate this please?

The Slippery Hill Boys will be bringing their brand of Bluegrass, Blues and Americana to four local venues in the next couple of weeks. If you haven't seen the band recently, we have a new five piece line-up, most of whom you will know from various sessions and singarounds. Dates and venues are;

Tuesday 1st March; an acoustic session led by the Slippery Hill Boys at the Glebe in Stoke town centre. This is part of the 'Over the Bridge' arts project. Please come and sing and play with us!

Saturday 5th March; the band in concert at the Museum (pub, not the antiquities repository!) George Street, Newcastle.

Thursday 10th March; Concert at the Old Brown Jug, Newcastle (part of their Folk and Roots series).

Friday 11th March; Concert at the Red Lion, Waterfall.

We'd love to see some of our friends from the sessions and singarounds; all the shows are free and start at around 8.30, but if you want to come to the Museum or the Red Lion it's advisable to come early if you want a seat!

Thanks

Tim Mundy
