Vin's career began busking and then fronting a rock and blues band, 'Hank and the Wolf'.
The band spent their first year in France and Spain playing covers with a few originals thrown in. However, Vin's love for writing songs was beginning to develop.
A few years in a noisy rock band, and she began to crave a more acoustic, laid back accompaniment, creating a platform for the voice and melody. Today's performances are uncluttered and spacious; Vin's voice and finger-picked guitar style complemented to superb effect by guitarist, Stewart Lupton.
The musical comparisons have ranged from Katie Melua, Joni Mitchell and Carole King, all the way to Nick Cave and Tom Waits, but Vin sounds most of all like herself. There is a unique and timeless quality about her songs. They feel familiar, yet fresh and different. She has a beautiful, warm, distinctive voice and is a fine lyricist. Her songs evenly distribute pure poetry, raw sensuality and kitchen sink irony.
