NEW VENUE -
Impromptu Singaround
Tuesday 22nd November
The Roebuck, Derby Street, Leek.ST13 5AB

Titanic Brewery have recently acquired, refurbished and re-opened The Roebuck. As it happens that there are five Tuesdays in November so it seems a shame to waste the opportunity to have a sing in the great atmosphere of the newly created snug.

For more details contact Malcolm Hawksworth on 0780 552 9492.

OPPORTUNITY NOT TO BE MISSED

The fourth edition of "Jack Goodison's Collection of Local and Traditional Carols" (AKA "The Red Book") has been out of print for a couple of years but demand has been such that I've just commissioned another print run.  I would be most grateful if you were to inform your carol singing colleagues that it is now available at a cost of £10 per copy (including a contribution to Jack's nominated charities). I can send them by first class post for an additional £3.50 p&p.

E-mail TheRedBook@forgefolk.com for more details.

Kind regards,

Jack

Subject: Folkie stuff w/c 7th November

Hi Everyone

Cracking night at the Lamb and Flag last week and though it was missing some regular faces, there were plenty of new people there to make up for it!

Some faces will be missing from the folk scene this week as the long awaited Spittalbrook Scottish Skirmish takes place from Tuesday to Saturday, however, things will carry on as normal and the first one is the Tuesday Spittalbrook Acoustic session. Always a busy night and will still be busy this week I should think, not everyone from the Spittalbrook is going to Scotland, so the session will run as normal.

Wednesday has the fabulous Pie & Ale sit 'n listen club. Always a good night to be had here, and one that I will be very sorry to miss this week. If you go, please remember to buy a raffle ticket, it all helps with the possibilities of putting guest nights on, talking of which - Bernard Wrigley on 30th November, still some tickets left, don't take a chance on buying on the door, you will be disappointed! Couple of links to Bernard's Web and a youtube clip worth watching;

There is a new UK Folk website here www.ukfolkmusic.co.uk/folk_clubs.html well worth a look and there is a forum where you can share your views or have a row with someone if you feel so inclined.

See you next week

Steve
