Apologies to anyone who has already received this but I think this could be setting a very useful financial trail to all our folk festivals if Nat West see a high level of support. Cheers, Derek 'Giff'

BROADSTAIRS FOLK WEEK relies on a mix of sponsorship, grants, sales and collections, and we have been fortunate to be included in the draw for NatWest Community Force funds. However, we need to get as many votes as possible so please share with your friends - everywhere! This would be a great boost for Folk Week fund-raising! Thank you! Please help us raise money for Broadstairs Folk Week! You can vote for us wherever you live - voting started on Monday 26 September - just click through on the link, register and vote. It will take a few minutes of your time, but we really would appreciate your making the effort, and if we are successful this would get 2012 fund-raising off to a great start. Thank you so much Jo Tuffs Director Broadstairs Folk Week From: Steve Gullick <stephengullick@btinternet.com> Date: Thu, 29 Sep 2011 07:56:32 +0100 (BST) To: <stephengullick@btinternet.com> ReplyTo: Steve Gullick <stephengullick@btinternet.com> Subject: Folkie updates - important!
Two very important updates! - Stafford
Firstly, tickets for the fabulous Les Barker are now available on line at;
www.staffordgatehousetheatre.co.uk/whats-on/other-events/Les-Barker
Please don't leave it to the last minute to buy yours, the room has a very limited capacity and there were a lot of last minute disappointments last time he was here, and at only six quid a ticket it is something that you really should not miss. Put it in your diary 13th October.
Secondly, the American Clawhammer Banjo Star Ken Pearlman is in concert at the Pie & Ale house with support from Small Change on October 7th. Tickets are just £6.50 or £5.50 concessions. To book yours ring George Davies on 01543 571910 or buy on the door. Another not to be missed show.
Thanks
(PS - I left my word book for my songs at the Pie & Ale last night - did anyone pick it up? Cheers) Hello again, Back from a great holiday and rarin' to go again at the Hungry Horse FC. Some of you may be aware that a fire took place at the Whitby Sports and Social Club venue about a week ago. The outside pavilion (by the bowling green) was badly damaged. The good news is that it did not affect any parts of the main building. Therefore the SINGERS & MUSICIANS NIGHT tonight - Thursday 29th September - in the Presidents Lounge goes ahead as normal. 8pm start. Free admission. Hope to see you there for another wonderful evenings entertainment. Guest night concerts - If you wish to book your tickets for the -- COLUM SANDS (6th October) & JOHN O'CONNELL (20th October) concerts in The Oak Room, then just ring Angie on -- 0151-678-9902. This year's concert promises to be yet another wonderful tribute to the acoustic guitar, with a triple header concert featuring Thomas, Leeb (courtesy of George Lowden Guitars), Jacques Stotzem (thanks to Fishman Pickups and Amplification) and Bruce Gaitsch (appearing with the support of McPherson Guitars).
Previous visitors top Acoustic Avalon will need no introduction to the wizardry of Austrian born Thomas Leeb, and the wonderful artistry of Jacques Stotzem from Belgium, both of whom are regular welcome visitors to the show. Both are at the top of their game, and will put on a wondeful show. We are delighted to welcome Chicago born Bruce Gaitsch to the concert stage this year.
