The National Eisteddfod was a major success, quite an achievement in
Wrexham, one of this less Welsh areas of Wales; the learners' pavilion,
The bit I was involved with, also worked well, which was great relief. We
Didn't get everything right but it worked in spite of us. On the Tuesday
I got invited to take part in 'Stomp y 'Steddfod', a huge Welsh language
Poetry slam on the Friday night, wrote a poem on Tuesday night, an really
Enjoyed performing it on the Friday. I didn't win, but at least I was
Part of it. My effort's now available on youtube.

I said last month I'd then be on 7 less committees, but I've just been
Summoned to a meeting of one of them to discuss 'The Way Forward'. That's
Worrying.

The recording of 'Word of Mouth' for Radio 4 went well, and is still
Available on the web. The Wondermentalist Cabaret was also rebrodcsst and
I've heard there'll be another series, which is good; Matt Harvey did a
Wonderful job planning the last one.

And the following week I went to Broadstairs and really enjoyed that. It
Was good to be at an event somebody else was organising. After that, I
Was hoping for a bit of time to sit at home and write. And in a way, I
Did; I filled in my tax form, I made my travel arrangements for New
Zealand, I filled in the form for a work visa, filled in a form about my
Mother's' financial situation - she was diagnosed with dementia almost a
Year and a half ago and is in a care home, and her savings are reaching
The minimum point, where Social Services should take over, I did some work
On the guardianship application so I can deal with her affairs - that's
Taking an eternity. She's currently in hospital, having had a fall last
Week. I'll be in one too later this month, but hopefully just for half a
Day. I've been on the waiting list for a minor operation since last
December and it's finally come around. After which I'll be able to get on
With The Way Forward.
