LAST WEEK:
Lymm Festival - we had a great time, but most of you missed out!!
Jaywalkers at the Rugby Club was an excellent evening's entertainment from a
brilliant trio of young musicians - and they've agreed to do the
pre-raffle-ite spot at the Spread Eagle during Bernard's Birthday Bash on
Thursday August 18th! The evening opened with a spot from Bernard, followed
by Nelson Peach - and we were very pleased to see Gary and Vera Aspey with
some of their 'Westhoughton Golf Club' friends in the audience!
Peter and Barbara Snape were a joy to listen to - we won't be leaving it
quite so long before we ask them back again! We opened with a few songs from
Nick and Lin, followed by Nelson Peach.
Sorry about the mix-up with the Festival Box Office causing a lot of you to
believe the ceilidh had sold out... The Box Office had sold their allocation
of 24 tickets, but I still had plenty available. Ho hum! Those of us who
were there had a great time!
If you have any comments about the Lymm Festival 2011 Folk Programme, I'd
like to hear them - good or bad! If you do not wish your comments to be used
(edited where appropriate) on the website, please make sure you say so.
THIS WEEK AND NEXT:

If in doubt, download the RTF: http://www.lymmfolkclub.org.uk/lymm_where.rtf
TICKETS:
Don't forget a saving can be made by booking your tickets in advance - use
our online forms http://www.lymmfolkclub.org.uk/lymm_tickets.html - you can
submit either by post (details on the form) or by email. Cheques to be made
payable to Bernard Cromarty, or ask for my bank details if you prefer to use
online banking.
LOST TICKETS:
It hasn't happened yet… but, in case it does, when you purchase a ticket I
record your name against the ticket(s) you have bought in a spreadsheet. I
have my laptop with me on club nights, so I can easily check which tickets
you've booked, so don't panic! More to the point, if someone tries to use
your missing ticket, I will know! Hee hee!
MAILING LIST:
If you know anyone who wishes to be on our mailing list, simply forward this
email to them, ask them to contact me on mailto:list@lymmfolkclub.org.uk,
and I'll add them. The group is 'closed', which means only real people added
or invited by me may become members. 'Spam Bots' and the like cannot add
themselves and cause trouble. Richard Peach (of Nelson Peach) is also an
administrator of the group, which is a precaution in case I'm indisposed for
any reason.
As we need to reverse the downward trend in guest night attendances, we are
looking to at least double the number of 'subscribers' receiving our weekly
newsletter before the start of the new season in September. We do not wish
to be accused of spamming, but would be grateful if you could forward this
newsletter on to one or more people in your address book - only if you think
it's appropriate, of course! Thank you.
