First Wednesday at the Greyhound

The endless series of celebrations continues, Bank Holidays, Royal Weddings, Easter Mayday etc etc. The high point for the nation will be reached on Wednesday May 4 when the Boat Band will be playing at the Greyhound in Penkhull (or the Dog as it is commonly known). As always there will be an opportunity for anyone to sing, play a tune or recite a poem . And the innovation of the bit of plywood in front of the band means the chance for step/tap/clog dancing continues.
We will also be having the now customary massed playing of the Stoke and Hanley Hornpipes by all and sundry. This focussing of local identity has already had a dramatic effect, as it caused Stoke City to win the semi-final 5-0. If enough people turn up to play on Wednesday then we will be guaranteed a similar outcome on May 14.
See you there?

PS We will also be unleashing some of our new maritime repertoire (in preparation for the Liverpool Festival this coming weekend). Be prepared for shanties and Bahamian music.
PPS Music tends to start around 9, though to get a good seat you need to be there a bit earlier than that.
