Plans are nearing completion for the best and longest Upton Upon Severn Riverside Folk Festival. The guest list is fantastic, the venues are booked, the Morris and outside displays will be as good as ever . AND we have a number of new distractions for you - a few new highlights are below but for more detail please see our web site www.Upton.Folk.ORG.

** Festival ticket prices have been held again this year but include an extra day.

** Concerts start on Thursday evening.

** We are invited to join the town of Upton for their Royal Wedding Party (or can go and hide in our tents).

** More dances including a world first  - a Ukulele Ceilidh with UKCC.

** A rapper display featuring the winners of DERTy (Dancing England Rapper Tournament (Youth) "The Heage Windmillers"

** Some Grallers in the procession  - once heard never forgotten!

** A Hiring fair and a dance callers competition

On our web site (www.UptonFolk.ORG) you will find an outline programme for the festival.

After a break for a few years we are selling clothing with Coinwulf (the Upton cat) embroidered on it. We will have a limited stock of sizes and colours of Fruit Of The LoomT Polo Shirts, Tee-shirts, Hoodies and Sweat Shirts on sale at the festival office.

Other colours and items are available and may be ordered before the festival, possibly with your own personalisation. They will be ready for you to collect at the weekend.

Would you like to advertise your festival, your club, your business, your act, yourself. in our programme. The programme is black and white A5 size and the following options are available:

Full A5 page     £50

½ A5 page       £30

Small Ad (text only approx 50 words)   £10

Deadline for copy and payment 1st April 2011 - Please contact me Chairman@UptonFolk.Org for full details.

I look forward to seeing you at Upton

We're Back!

For various reasons we've been a bit quite during the past few months, but we're
back now and better than ever!

First up we've a new website which not only lists our activities, but offers
three great opportunities for you to promote your own events, gigs, products or
services as long as they relate to the Folk Arts that is!  Here's a quick break
down:

Community News
Our news section features your press releases on the site's home page and can
include a small graphic.  You can post as many as you like and remove them when
no-longer relevant.

Events Calendar
Another great way of promoting your folk events so list your gigs, workshops,
festivals etc. here.

Folk Market
You can sell anything here provided it is in keeping with the site.  You can
either auction or set a fixed price.  Very easy to use and it will let you use
your Paypal account if you have one.

Melodeon Workshop
I got one of these noisy boxes for Christmas and am now an addict!
Unfortunately most people tend to leave the room when I'm playing so Bryan
Dawson from dance band, Double Capers, has kindly agreed to run a workshop for
us.  It takes place on Saturday, 19th March 2011 10.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.  Cost
£25 including a light lunch.  Places limited to 10 and 4 have all ready been
taken.  You'll find all details on the website, but please pass on to any one
you think might be interested.

Advance Notice
The marquee will be coming out again this summer!  Please keep Friday, 22nd July
free as our resident band, Calling Time, will be hosting a special fest type gig
on the field to raise funds for our local nature reserve.  Still at the planning
stage, but watch this space!

Whoops!
Nearly forgot, here's the link to the new site:

Best wishes,

Sue
