JANUARY
13/1   Foxfield Railway, Blythe Bridge ST11 9BGT, 01782 616015

January was fairly peaceful but with a late frenzy. I was part of a
Recording of the Wondermentalist Cabaret, an initial series of 4 poetry
Programmes for Radio 4, masterminded by Matt Harvey, a lovely man and a
Very funny poet; if you get the chance to see him, go. The first
Programme was broadcast tonight at 11pm, so I imagine the fourth will go
Out on 22nd February, but I don't know for certain. It was a wonderful
Evening and I don't know they'll manage to condense it into half an hour.
As well as doing what I usually do, I chose Hedd Wyn as my contribution
To the Dead Poets' Slam; the others chose Shelley and A A Milne. I won't
Spoil the surprise by saying who won.

Life's filling up with committee meetings, mostly for the National
Eisteddfod, which takes place in Wrexham this year.. I'm involved with
Arranging activities in the learners' area, amongst other things. Not
Something I ever expected to be doing. Life's full of interesting
Surprises.

June Tabor's new album 'Ashore' turned up in the post today, and I've
Just listened through it; wonderful. It finished with one of my songs
'Across the wide ocean,' which has turned into an epic of almost 12
Minutes. Remarkable.
