Top Irish artist for Tilston Music Club

Internationally acclaimed singer-song writer Andy White - hailed as Ireland's Song Writer of the Year and a 'national treasure' – takes to the stage at Tilston Music Club on Wednesday November 10.

Belfast born Andy carries a 12-string guitar under his arm and wears his particular brand of Irish magic and charm on his sleeve. He's said to mix the political edge of the young Bob Dylan and the romance of David Gray with the Celtic influences and lyricism of the Waterboys. BBC' 2's Janice Long says "I love this man and his music –rave on".

With ten critically-acclaimed studio albums to his name, Andy has won Ireland's top rock and song-writing awards, toured the world working with the likes of Mary Black and Van Morrison, and written with Peter Gabriel and Neil and Tim Finn (Crowded House).

Andy's latest album is Songwriter (Floating World). His new book is an 'on the road' journal, 21st Century Troubadour, published (Lagan Press).

Club host Geoff Edwin-Scott said: "Andy is a big name and terrific performer. We are very privileged to have him as a guest in Tilston as part of his UK tour. Book early, we expect a sell out"

The performance starts at 8pm at the Carden Arms, Tilston, near Malpas. Admission is £7.00 and advance tickets are available from Steve Hobman on 01829 250502. / 07751 578605.

Bellowhead. Wild, joyous, perverse, bold, crazy, full-blooded, intricate, fearless, funny, epic and mostly BIG, the mighty 11-piece Bellowhead blend folk, jazz, classical, disco and world music influences with English music and cabaret to stunning effect. Playing more than 20 instruments between them with six vocalists, they deliver a heady brew that defies categorization.

The next "Over the Bridge" in Stoke is on Tuesday, December 7th.

Most of the town centre pubs in Stoke collaborate and offer a fantastic free evening of live bands; just wander round and sample the action.

The shiny new website, currently under constructions, has band and venue details http://www.overthebridgestoke.co.uk/

It will continue on the first Tuesday of each month. December 7 will see the White Star coming back on board too (unfortunately an organisational hiccup prevented their particpating this month). Also hopefully the newly opened Glebe (one of the new Joules' Brewery pubs). will be joining in. Well worth a look, particularly as they have a head on the wall which looks suspiciously like the Emperor of Exmoor.

Watch out for The Boat Band !
