Vin Barretts' concert at the Players Theatre in Nantwich was absolutely brilliant. Nantwich Gas Flame Centre loaned a log effect fire for the stage, and complete with Xmas tree , logs and music, we had a wonderful atmosphere for Vin's lyrics. Vin is surely one of the very best new songwriters around.
The main surpise of the night was the opening act Golden Zimmaestro, a guitarist originally from Zimbabwbe and now a music technology student in The University of Staffordshire. Golden brought some warm sunshine into a freezing cold night, playing world African fusion music using live looping with his guitar and a pedal. I won't even attempt to describe how live looping works but it's great !
Other surpises were Stuart Lupton who managed to play a few numbers despite his thumb being stitched up, Gary O Brien had swine flu and couldn't make it at all, but Vins partner John joined Vin for the numbers Stuart was unable to play.
I am currently attempting to re size video files of the show so you can view them online. That will keep me up late!
Have a happy and healthy new year all.
Warm regards, Lynne Barnes AmandaLynne Music Agency 01270 628041 mobile 077 900 82523 68 The Beeches, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 5YP | ||
